I suppose it takes a certain type of person to dress up as a superhero and stand along the Hollywood Walk of Fame taking pictures with tourists for tips. I don’t think anyone would be surprised to discover that the majority of these people are aspiring actors with sordid pasts. However, the Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman and Hulk featured in Confessions are not interchangeable.
Matt Ogens has made a really personal film. Although the premise seems ridiculous, Ogens takes his subjects and their stories seriously. The result is a well crafted film that shows the hero’s unique motivations, struggles and successes. Surprisingly, the film takes on an almost inspirational tone. It’s also filled with some beautiful still photography.
